Program Description
The Bachelor's Degree Program in Theology is a program conducted within the Faculty on a semester credit system. At our Faculty, after a 1-year compulsory Arabic preparatory class, a 4-year Bachelor's Degree Program in Theology is offered in a full-time format, consisting of compulsory courses (70% in Turkish and 30% in Arabic) and a wide range of elective courses. Teacher training courses have also been added to the curriculum to enable our graduates to take on teaching roles.
Recognition of Prior Education
Students studying at Akdeniz University may be exempt from certain courses within the framework of specific regulations. Students enrolled in the two-year Associate Degree in Theology program and those taking courses at a different higher education institution may have their credits transferred to the Bachelor's Degree in Theology program if the courses they have successfully completed overlap with the program. Students who have obtained a certificate of Qur’an Memorization from an institution providing widespread education are also admitted to undergraduate programs in accordance with the rules set by the Measurement, Selection, and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Additionally, students admitted through the DGS are granted recognition of their open education diplomas, and after evaluation by the horizontal transfer and credit transfer committee, course and credit matching is conducted to place them at the appropriate level in the regular education program.
